What I need...

PERU | Wednesday, 13 January 2010 | Views [157]

Hot water

A bathroom that flushes

Water in the evenings

Warm floors

Internet connection

A place to go to during the day to rest

Space to do what I need to do without having to feel like I have to walk on egg shells

More importantly…

Friends; people who I can trust and rely on and who want to open their hearts and homes to me

A man who possesses both of the below because I feel that I do:

I came to Peru on Monday and I feel so fortunate because before coming I was given the names of 2 people: Roger and Francisco.  Roger is a friend of Edwins and Francisco is the cousin of Carmen.

Roger spent Monday and Tuesday night helping me to look for my own apartment and showing me around and having dinner with me.  He will also take me out for my birthday and we will go dancing on Friday.  Roger does very well for himself.  He is an architect and has bought land 45 minutes away where he wants to open his own business in time.  He dresses well, has a good sense of who he is and what he wants, takes on a lot of responsibility and takes working seriously but likes to have fun in the evening.

Francisco on the other hand owns a hostel with 2 other guys in Aguas Calientes but he does not like to work much or take himself seriously.  He does not care to dress well or live in very good conditions.  But, like Roger who both are Peruvian, he has walked with me and ate with me and showed me around and he introduced me to his friends and I will stay in his apartment for 10 days while he travels.  He is very nice and caring.

I hope that from being here, I will learn to further open my heart to others and allow myself to really feel and share my feelings.
