We packed up camp and headed into town so I could drop them off at the aquarium. I had already been to it and so I walked around the city center instead. It was a pretty sunny day in Napier. At one of the shops, a lady ran off with a dress without paying and I saw the shop owner and a police officer run after her. So that was something. I picked the girls up after a short while and we headed for The Filter Room, which we got the recommended from the couple at the camp. It was an Alehouse and Cidery. We talked with the guy at the counter while picking the ciders and beers we wanted to try. We chose two ciders, a sangria, and three beers, all were quite good. We bought a bottle of the sangria, ginger beer, and an alcoholic passion fruit smoothie mix.
Close by was the Silky Oak Chocolate Factory, which I went to before, but we went back for some delicious fudge. We drove south and passed through Hastings just so we could see it. Next, we were on our way to Wellington. It was about a four hour drive and I was in the hot seat. We stopped for restroom breaks and to purchase produce at a small local store. It was raining when we pulled into Wellington and I wasn't thrilled to be in the big, frustrating city. We went to check out a rundown, hostel/campground but decided to just book an Air B&B so we could have a roof over our head for the rainy night. We drove around waiting for the host to accept the request and then we were on our way. The B&B was in the Lower Hutt area and we found it easily.
We met our hostess, Emma and her two adorable kids as well as her sister. We hauled our stuff inside and settled into our room. It had a nice double bed and we put a single mattress pad on the floor for me. The girls have been sick lately so I'm trying to keep my distance a little bit. We heated up our leftover taco fixings and broke out the drinks we bought earlier and shared with our hostess. I excused myself for a little while and once I returned, we Netflix-ed and chilled in our room before going off to bed.
