Journeys with Janine

A hull slicing through white-waters, sails flapping in the breeze, a deck glistening with the salt - touched by the scorching African sun. This is my kind of adventure and who wouldn’t fall in love with this type of travel? I sail regularly and am in love with the passion, camaraderie and commitment that sailors embody. The South African Lipton Cup, depicted in my video, goes beyond mere physical travel; it represents a journey of mind, body and spirit in a sport as old as time. As a little girl, I loved to put on plays for my parents and this little girl is still alive inside of me today. I studied film with majors in acting and scriptwriting and have worked and volunteered in the film industry in a number of capacities. I currently earn my living as a travel writer. I ache to explore every inch of the earth during my time here and am just as excited to visit a luxury hotel abroad as I am to step foot into a cultural club in my hometown. My two passions are media and travel; to combine these career goals into one amazing path is my ultimate dream! This experience would take me out of my comfort zone, propel me to where I long to be and give me the skills to make it happen.
