TASTE: Fresh, a word that aptly describes this ubiquitous beverage in Morocco – orange juice. A solitary juice cart in the Kasbah des Oudaias is the oasis upon which parched travellers stumble to quench their thirst with cold refreshments that possess a flavour and the acidity that is sure to tingle the taste buds.

SOUND: In a hut under the scorching heat, tribesmen in Merzouga chant and hum to the thunderous claps of steel plates and the steady, driving beat of a drum. Guests were invited to dance to a music that would continue to reverberate and echo
in their memories long after the final note.

TOUCH: A Berber leads a train of dromedaries (and travellers) into the Sahara. It was a night under the stars that saw the travellers awaking with mouthfuls of sand the next morning after being buffeted and lashed by a relentless sandstorm. But it was also a dawn that found the travellers trudging up a towering dune – barefoot, toes digging into the soft ground beneath, fine red sand succumbing to the fall of each step – to witness the rise of a Saharan sun.
