We had a great day yesterday, headed off to our favourite coffe house in the morning. It really is pretty, garden setting, with ponds and waterfall. We have been the only westerners there, and they have taken english words off the menu, lucky we know how to order our iced black coffees in vietnamese. While we were sitting there a waitress brought a hand written note from a group of middle-aged men, inviting us to join them so they could practice speaking english. Turned out the were a group of policemen, one being a General. Was quite different, and after coffee we were bundled into a car and taken out for lunch to a local restaurant. The food was delicious, a chicken dish in a ginger sauce and a beef and warm salad dish with steamed rice. The men were hospitable, and conversation was a little stilted, but overall a pleasant experience. Hayley made sure of getting a couple of pictures with the head guy, who intends to email us in order to improve his grammer. Headed back to the hotel and decided to check out the rooftop pool, and what a delight that was! Had the place to ourselves, so set up the ipod speaker and spent a couple of hours floating around. The pool was large, deep and cool, with 360 degree views of Nha Trang, Awesome! I can fully recommend the Sun and Sea Hotel. Unfortunatly they were fully booked today so we have moved to the Violet Hotel, which is comfortable and clean, but not in the same league. We are heading off to Quoy Nonh early Sunday morning by train, instead of Tuy Hoa, will be good to get moving again. Ian's health continues to wax and wane, so not sure what he will decide to do yet, he may have to catch us up a bit later. Love to all! xxx
