Still in our little haven, but leaving for Siam Reap first thing tomorrow. Hired a car for $55 and split 4 ways, it's only a couple of dollars more than the bus. Angkor Wat here we come! Have really enjoyed our stay here, very pretty, lots of ornate buildings quite different architecture than in Vietnam. Billi went to the genocide museum and the killing fields today, and was well looked after by our tuk-tuk driver, Chhom. She enjoyed her day, and found the museum very interesting. Hayley and I didn't do too much, found a great French bakery got some takeaway salad sandwiches and chocolate eclairs and sat by the pool with our books. It's tough going for us! Ian arrived safely, nice to have him about. We all spent the late afternoon in the pool, met some other travelers and chatted and swapped info and stories followed by dinner by the waterfront and a good stroll along the river. Nice cool breeze blowing, and after the heat of the day, very refreshing. Dinner was a bit ordinary, but, overall the food is much better than expected. The French certainly influenced the food here, great breads, pastries, chocolate mousse. Eating plenty of fresh fruit too, usual watermelon, bananas, pineapple, dragonfruit. We are all safe and happy! <3 <3
