My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Johnson Boey, an international student studying in Perth as future Podiatrist. Ever since I came to Australia for study, I have been very much interested the unique culture that Australia has. Coming from an Asian country (Singapore), it has been a wonderful experience to be living with the local Australian family to learn the culture and language. Just one more year to go before I leave this country for work, there is still so much to grasp the understanding of this wonderful country that I called my second "home".

Since young, I have been in love with photography but never had the opportunity to explore because of my family's limited financial capacity to buy DSLR. However, it was only recently that I managed to save up to buy a basic DSLR to carry on this passion to a new level. Since then, I have been more than in love in photography than before. I love to tell and the my story and experience through the camera lens. With this competition, I really hope that I can have an opportunity to learn from a mentor about photography so that I can share my experience of the immense cultural diversity of this world without the need to be there physically through my lens.
