Malolotja Nature Reserve

Bleesbok, Malolotja, Swaziland

Bleesbok, Malolotja, Swaziland

Today marks the one year anniversary of Connie’s end of work.  One year with working and she doesn’t miss it a bit.  For me it’s only 11 months but so far, I agree with her.

We’re still in Swaziland in the hilly northeast at the Malolotja Nature Reserve.  We set up camp at the secluded and . except for us, vacant campground.  It is quite charming but unfortunately the hot water is wood-fueled so it may get chilly.  The clouds are rolling down the hillside, it’s getting cooler and rain would not surprise me.

Malolotja is predator free and has lots of hiking trails.  There are several species of antelope but all we’ve seen so far are bleisbok.  They have white mime faces and large ears and they look like four legged cows.  They feel quite at home around our tent and I hope they are more quiet than the impala have been.  There were several fights last night between impala bucks with much snorting and clashing horns.
