I'm a self thought photographer. I often find me shooting landscape and abandoned old houses. I grew up in the West Fjords in Iceland where the hard weather and dark winter´s had a big influence in my live. And I think that this has translate in my photographing as I often look for a dramatic landscape to photograph.
The photograph I'm sending in this competition are both landscape and abandoned things what they have in common is the past live of the people how ware there and the Icelandic saga.
The image Blue Rom, I looked true the windows and saw this blue room at first I just looked I was amazed by its loneliness and when the sun started to shine in the window I placed the camera on the broken window shelf and shoot it, I wonder way the people choice d the blue color I found it making the room cold and more empty, The Viking Ship. This ship was resting on the Fjord and when I arrived there ware this dark clouds and silver see so I shoot this image wondering how the people would have felt in the past when they saw this form of ship sailing in the fjord not knowing what was going to happen.
Going Back to Earth. This old Sheep house is slowly disapering into the ground and it show how things we made are powerless against the Nature and the Earth will give and it will take away that is what this image is telling me.
The Water Fall of The Gods. I wanted to make a little bit dreaming effect thinking how the name of this waterfall came bay, In the year 999 or 1000 they say the Lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion it is said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall
Ash. The ruins in the Volcano ash cloud remind us of the Nature power.
