In Yorkshire the sun is setting VERY SLOWLY at 9.30. Last night we had a beautiful sunset but it took ages. Not like at home where it only lasts seconds. Consequently at 10.30 there is still lots of light in the sky. But here's the rub, it is popping up again well before 4am! Fortunately I haven't been able to check the precise time for you yet, but it is a tad disorienting I must say. Last night it was a case of curtains firmly shut, but I'm not fooled for a moment, I know it's out there beckoning me to GET UP! So here I am.
The good news is that we are sleeping better and the bug which has assailed us with a sequence of sore throats, sinus, frog impersonations, and streaming colds since our arrival, is now retreating to the cough stage. But what's next? Seriously we are well, getting around and not restricted so that's great.
York Early Music Fair today! We are meeting my brother Alan and sis in law Chris this morning and all going to see The Sixteen in the Minster tonight.
