My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

More often than I should be willing to admit, I find myself browsing through other people's travel photography online and realize how compelled and extremely jealous I get. As a 23 year old who hasn’t quite gone where I’ve wanted to yet since graduation, this has become my yearning: to travel, and to photograph the world the way that I see it– to be the person posting the pictures, and not the one viewing it from far away. The world has so much to offer, yet oftentimes, human beings see so little of it. Life gets in the way, and as of now, I am one of many prime examples of dreams being thwarted by our everyday daily necessities. Recently, photography (and travel) has become my upmost passions. Every picture has a story to tell or a memory connected to it, and I want nothing more than to photograph the world and share those stories from my perspective. Opportunities as such only offer themselves once in a while, and thus spark the thirst inside of me to travel. Not only would I gain invaluable experience in the territory of travel photography, but I would get to quench that burning desire – to travel, while doing what I love.
