In the woods, the sun was breaking through the clouds at random intervals and I liked how the shadows of the trees fell upon the bright snow.

In the woods, the sun was breaking through the clouds at random intervals and I liked how the shadows of the trees fell upon the bright snow.

That evening, a few of us went for a hike in the snowy woods to an overlook. We got there just as the sun was setting.

I fell behind the group at one point when I got caught up taking pictures. After a minute, I looked up to realize that I couldn't see them anymore. Naturally, I didn't think to look for their footprints and in a quick moment of panic, I thought I was lost - only to look dead ahead and spot a tree with a trail-blaze on it.
