    An older woman in her narrow and shallow old boat - common means of transportation for individuals who live on the river in floating houses. People carry their possessions, groceries, clothes, car batteries (to be used as a powers source for their floating homes), goods that they sell/trade in town or among each other. by: jlitrov Views[2547] Two little kids are floating in the middle of the river in the old rickety boat, by themselves, visibly in distress, hungry and thirsty, absolutely naked. Some tourists passing by on the boat gave them cans of Coca Cola, which was met with unbelievable excitement. by: jlitrov Views[4756] Rickety boats/floating homes that are made from dried grass and/or found and recycled bamboo & wood are lined along the river on both sides. Some of them are held together by rope or some other type of unconventional building material. A lot of boats are barely staying afloat, propped by some old rubber tiers and/or plastic containers...These people have been living on the river, in a state of flax for the past 90 years, without firm land under their fit, without running water or any type of sewage system and therefore, in highly unsanitary conditions. Every time the river swells during the rainy season, everyone have to move their homes to safety, and come back when the river goes back in to its banks. Community’s living conditions have absolutely no prospective of being improved. by: jlitrov Views[1176] Public buses run from town to the Floating Village area, bringing people back-n-forth, the lucky once that fond some work in town. Occasionally, some tourists come by bus to visit the Village. Knowing that they might be lucky to be able to get treats or some spare change or some other trinkets, little kids from around the area flock to greet the bus. by: jlitrov Views[661] A main dirt-road leading towards the floating village, with some rickety-looking shelters put together on the banks of the river, forming a make-shift shelters for some people who cannot afford to make a floating house. Every time river swells due to rain, every single structure ends up under the water and in ruins. This community have been incurring hardships for generations. by: jlitrov Views[959]
