The Routeburn Track

We have just finished a 3 day walk along the Routeburn. It was in primitive conditions compared to what we have had up till now. There were no showers and we had to carry all our food for 3 days and nights. We also had to share dormitories and one night we had four in a bed. I won't say a lot as it will be just a load of superlatives and I do not want to bore you to death. The pictures will explain all. I have not kept up with the weather in Britain but it will be along way from the average 74* plus we are suffering here, with light cool breezes. Mind you I had to put on my fleece this am for the first time this holiday, until it warmed up.The walk and scenary was magnificent as was the company we had along the track. This included a James and Mary from Melbourn and Monika from Germany but is working as a vet in Aukland. We also met Phill who was one of the hostel wardens on the track. He is from Sparkwell in Devon and a bit of an expert on local history. Currently Mary is in the bath having not washed for nearly 4 days. I will be following her soon.
