Mary and I are at Changi airport ready to fly to New Zealand. Michael is with us and is flying to Melbourne. We are leaving Paul, Michael's son and his partner Kate in Singapore as they are staying with friends until Monday when they return home.Mary and I are nearly one third of the way through our trip[. The next phase will e vert different. We are leaving the relative luxury and high temperatures of the tropics to the temperate climes of NZ. The good news is that it will be summer but before we get too optimistic we know what temperate summers can be like. We will b walking 4 national trails over 3 weeks. NZ has a great reputation to live up to. I have not heard of a negative comment except a chinese chap we met in Singapore who has relatives in Aukland. He says there is nothing to do after 7.00pm. I guess that will suit Mary and I.
