A lone flame signifying hope & the beauty of Fall in Matsushima. In March 2011 many lives were lost and the out pour of love from the international community was astronomical. Matsushima can be described as the light from within Tohoku, showing the true spirit of the Japanese people, a "gambatte" spirit, of never giving up in the face of adversities. Showing true pose and beauty even in dark times. The restoration efforts sure a clear path for hope and renewed happiness. This gem in the north, will light the way, it's rich history and beauty of the islands is and will continue to be therapeutic in the healing process.
