Costa Rica: ontem a noite!

day 10: Rome, COLOSSEO

ITALY | Sunday, 28 November 2010 | Views [362]

The hostel was pretty nice, it was kind of a family house and it seemed as the hostel were their way of living. It was decent, quite cheap and well located so it was completely worth it.
Around 1km or less, just 15m walk, I found the 'Colosseo'. It absolutely sucked not having a camera and I will ask IBERIA for a huge compensation. At least I managed to get 1 pic from some brazilian guy, funny how portuguesse ended up saving my ass like 3 times.
Italian people it's absolutely different than the other nationalities I've met in Europe. I would say they're more likely to help you than french ( nevermind the french, they...) or maybe british, but considering that I had no language issues in London, the minor lack of driven intention to help is ok, it's manageble and doesn't frustrate much.
I took the city tour bus, which goes all over the historical spots and, well it's the same than London's and Paris'. Although I think Rome was not as magnificent as I expected it to be, but it was quite interesting meeting people here. I think Italian people are like the Europe's Latinos. They are messy, the wall are so full of graffitis, way more than CR. The streets are as dirty as San Jose's or even more, but of course they do have better streets and transportation means, and they are as efficient as they have been all over Europe. The street are all full of cars, they yell and swear as we do, maybe just a little bit less. And they are very much into football, i did like that, seeing them discussing about that was very interesting and funny, somehow reminded me of some Sopranos
moments.
Night life, well I think they're not so much into partying as English, Dutch or hopefully Spaniards. I expected to see more pretty girls than what I really saw, not that they're not, but English are still on the top so far, hopefully spaniards will be more beautiful. They have a law which prohibits alcohol to be sell after 2 am, but I dont know why, some places dont follow such law.
Vaticano was overwhelming, but I don't mind it much since I give a f... about you know what. The infrastructure
is, of course, wonderfull, huge, a complete 'piece' of Art.
So far I'd say if I had to come back to Europe I'd go straight to Amsterdam and after that maybe London, or possibly I would travel around England.
Nom im flying to Barcelona. I have big expectations of Barcelona, let's see.
