day 10: Rome, COLOSSEO

The hostel was pretty nice, it was kind of a family house and it seemed as the hostel were their way of living. It was decent, quite cheap and well located so it was completely worth it.

Around 1km or less, just 15m walk, I found the 'Colosseo'. It absolutely sucked not having a camera and I will ask IBERIA for a huge compensation. At least I managed to get 1 pic from some brazilian guy, funny how portuguesse ended up saving my ass like 3 times.

Italian people it's absolutely different than the other nationalities I've met in Europe. I would say they're more likely to help you than french ( nevermind the french, they...) or maybe british, but considering that I had no language issues in London, the minor lack of driven intention to help is ok, it's manageble and doesn't frustrate much.

I took the city tour bus, which goes all over the historical spots and, well it's the same than London's and Paris'. Although I think Rome was not as magnificent as I expected it to be, but it was quite interesting meeting people here. I think Italian people are like the Europe's Latinos. They are messy, the wall are so full of graffitis, way more than CR. The streets are as dirty as San Jose's or even more, but of course they do have better streets and transportation means, and they are as efficient as they have been all over Europe. The street are all full of cars, they yell and swear as we do, maybe just a little bit less. And they are very much into football, i did like that, seeing them discussing about that was very interesting and funny, somehow reminded me of some Sopranos

moments.

Night life, well I think they're not so much into partying as English, Dutch or hopefully Spaniards. I expected to see more pretty girls than what I really saw, not that they're not, but English are still on the top so far, hopefully spaniards will be more beautiful. They have a law which prohibits alcohol to be sell after 2 am, but I dont know why, some places dont follow such law.

Vaticano was overwhelming, but I don't mind it much since I give a f... about you know what. The infrastructure

is, of course, wonderfull, huge, a complete 'piece' of Art.

So far I'd say if I had to come back to Europe I'd go straight to Amsterdam and after that maybe London, or possibly I would travel around England.

Nom im flying to Barcelona. I have big expectations of Barcelona, let's see.

DAY 9: MILANO TO ROMA

I'm going to Rome today.

I ate ITALIAN PIZZA today, it tastes definitely different. Once again my flight got delayed, easy jet, 1 hour delay.

Muy buenas chichis en milan y en roma, pero curiosamente las q mas me han gustado han sido las inglesas, percibi q hacen tanto ejercicio como las brasilenas

Day 8: Enschede, Twente University - MILAN: INTER vs TWENTE

Today has been very rushy and exciting. Right now it's 1800 and I'm flying from Eindhoven to Bergamo, Milan.

I woke up very late, had breakfast at the hotel. This hotel was expensive (65 euros including breakfast and internet) but right next to UTwente, so I rathered been close than having transportation issues.

Their whole campus is awesome, not hugeLY large though, I'd say twice or 3 times the size of UCR. The faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences is great. I had a quick chat with the manager of international affairs, who is, the dean of Computer Security Masters Program as well. He talked to me a little bit about their field of action, projects and current research studies. He also mentioned their admission requirements.

Everybody here in UTWENTE is extremely kind, I guess this is the typical behavior in here. And when I told them that I was from Costa Rica, most of them did recognized it,'Ruiz' or 'Football' were their reactions.

I had the chance to look at some catalogs, or presentation banners of many students research and they all seemed quite innovative and very interesting. In Telematics their projects seemed to be somhow focused on new tools or improvement of mobile devices.

The campus has a lot of things, supermarket (were I met the cheap version of europe...), their football field, the SportCentrum, other faculties

Leaving the campus wasn't complicated. One bus took me to the Enschede train station and then I wento to Eindhoven, where I caught a really cheap flight to Milan.

Llegue 15 minutos tarde, habia una fila de 100m para agarrar taxi en milan

Entering this stadium was almost as exciting as entering the Maracana, but with a supposed to be, better game. The sensation u get in dis THIS PLACE IS AWESOME

The game was not good I think, Bryan couldnt make a thing.

Que pequeno es el mundo, entro al estadio y un mae me dice q si le puedo tomar una foto, y no va resultando tico y del tec... despues del partido terminamos bebiendo Beck con unos holandeses en la calle

Tomorrow Im going to Rome

DAY 7: ENSCHEDE

Here is TWENTE, Bryan Ruiz Team.

I am visiting the University of Twente, seems pretty nice. There is a supermarket inside, and finally i managed to see fair prices, tonight my dinner was a juice and a sandwich, for a total of 5 euros or something.

The campus is huge, cold, well designed, I saw their SPORTCENTRUM, which seemed like the perfect anti anxiaty spot.

I will take a look at their Computer Science Research Laboratories.

Tomorrow Im heading to Milan

DAY 6: AMSTERDAM...

This city rules, it's so joyful, full of life and lights, most of the people are visitors, and every ducth speaks english, thats really good. Theyre really kind to visitors. The water all over the city is unbelievable. Coffee shops.............!!! WOW, red light district, double WOW, I bought some nice things here.

This is definitely the place I have liked the most, IT'S SO DIFFERENT, RELAXED, BEAUTIFUL, CHARGED, COMPLETE, HAPPY, SAFE, and you make friends in every coffee shop, people gets very outgoing in those.

One important thing I noticed, THERE ARE WAY MORE GUYS THAN GIRLS, who knows why.

Twice I ended up playing pool with some spaniards and dutch guys. I dont play and havent done it in 3-4 years, but it was nice. By times we all got really terrible and couldnt get to place any ball on its place, for even 20 minutes.

G, well there are good prices and qualities, I entered straight to ask for the first nice thing I could find, it was some special haze rolled in a huge joint. 5 Euro and boom, straight to neverland.

Girls, well it's a whole new level, not better, but extremely different. I had no idea how that thing worked. They are all over the windows posing like ALIVE shoes or clothes giving you faces and calling you names so they convince you to get in... Quality, I saw what you usually see everywhere, good, great, excellent, terrible, regular. Based on the fact that most of them looked different, it made the situation a little bit more interesting, there were more east europe alike faces, tending to russian-like biatch.

There seems to be some kind of celebration here, I believe it's a mixture of thanksgiving with winter entry fancy shit. And along all they got on the streets, there were nice traditional meals or deserts, any kind of shit you want to eat when you get that so called munchis,

The worst ive suffered here has been that my camera died in paris and I couldnt get any picture here. I NEED THE CHARGERS.

TOmorrow Im heading to the northeast, Enschede.
