Taiwan celebrates the Tomb Sweeping Festival each year in April. On this day, families gather together to clean around the tombs of their ancestors. A huge evening feast follows the yearly ritual.

On the first and the fifteenth of every month, the people of Taiwan traditionally pay respect to their ancestors by visiting temples and doing what is known as 拜拜 (bàibài) or worship.

The alluring scent of incense is never too far when wandering through the streets and mountains of Taiwan. This is a reminder of the honorable culture that exists within Taiwan.
