Where the bloody hell am I

Bratislava = Bad

I'd travelled just 64km from Vienna and the contrast couldn't have been more stark. In Bratislava things were older, dirtier, slower and the people more surly. Whereas their previous countrymen, the Czechs were generous and accomodating the Slovaks were not. I was grunted at, told wrong info and basicly ignored and this was at the tourist office and the Irish pub (still looking for cricket) where you'd think they would be used to English speaking tourists. And this was the first country I'd actually bothered to learn a bit of the language and use it. Then when I tried to get a haircut the chick tried charging me double what was on the sign out the front. Not a good introduction to a country and as such I really couldn't wait to get out of there.

The rest of Bratislava was spent hanging out with pommy backpackers watchin soccer, meeting an aussie girl who claimed to be closely linked to the Melbourne underground (i thought they were all dead) and trying to contain my hate for the country. Maybe I was just unlucky and got the wrong people on the wrong day but I can't say Bratislava was worth it.
