Floating home (just)

Next stop was Bristol and i did end up sleeping on a boat with Borey. It was good to catch up with him since it had been about 6 months since we last caught up. He's doin well with job for greenpeace, savin up so he can do more travelling round Europe. Also met his girlfriend Lou is an absolute top chick. Had heaps of fun hangin out with them. Should be good to see them again when we meet up in Amsterdam for Matty's b'day in April.

Livin on a boat was a different experience, especially when it didn't have a toilet. Gettin up to go to a building site at 3 in the morning for a piss isn't something u do every day. And with the temperature in single digits its not soemthing i wanna get used to.

The floating part of the home got tested while i was there when Nick found out that the bilge pump which is supposed to empty any water that gets into the engine bay had failed and the engine bay was full of water. Thankfully he'd noticed and we stayed on top of the canal. Especially since the water is absolutely filthy.

Since Bath is right near Bristol I headed there for a couple of day trips. On one i went to see the baths and almost managed to fall in. Supposedly people do it all the time. One chick managed to do it in her wedding dress. On the other day i went to see Stonehenge. It was cool to see but it wasn't as impressive as i thought it'd be. Something to tick off the lsit though.

The highlight of Bristol was no doubt the squat party that Nick and I went to. People had taken over four abandoned terrace houses, knocked down the back fences and set up one of the most crazy parties i've ever seen. It took 10 minutes to get through the house there were that many people. The backyard had atent with a live band and some of the most chronic moshing ever. There was a bonfire and an accompanying haze of smoke. It was insane. People were spilling onto the streets out the front and the cops just let it happen. It didn't seem to worry them that it was 2 in the morning. Nick said that they happen all the time. Our house parties are tame in comparison.

My time in England finished up sleeping at Stansted airport. Not the best place to sleep. The floor is hard and cold so after 3hrs of sleeping on newspapers (i was such a bum) I headed off to Prague.
