A scary batfish (Latin name scarius batfishicus)caught by the owner of the Villa. Anyone who knows the official name let me know.
it's hard to say what variety of Lionfish it is because someone has removed it from the water where it belongs, but it is a type of lionfish. Whoever caught it should have released it. They are absolutely beautiful, and they are poisonous so they are better admired from a distance.

Thanks for that. The person who caught it called it a bat fish for obvious reasons. Nice to know that it is actually a lion fish.I think they planned to eat it. Not sure if that was wise?RegardsJeff

that looks like a gurnard. Possibly a helmet gurnard (Dactyloptena orientalis).
