Bullett’s Birthday Trip – The Road Trip to Rocky.
Day 5 –Toowoomba to Glass House Mountains.
Another beautiful day and the shops were calling. Toowoomba has a very nice shopping centre with a Myer etc. and we wandered around checking out the shops. Gerard bought a new pair of Colorado sandals and we bought some essentials we needed as well as a couple of new CDs. We also needed a new headlight globe for the Citroen (yes, another one blew over Christmas).
We headed out to Moya’s for lunch and wandered around the garden and Gerard replaced the blown globe. It was then back on the road again to the Glass House Mountains and Toast and Jodie.
We arrived about 5.45pm just after Toast had got home from work, in time to see the baby fawn stretching its legs in the backyard. It is so cute and only about two weeks old. It had been taken from its mother at one day old so they wouldn’t bond and is now Toast and Jodie’s new addition to the family. They have been hand feeding it since day two and quickly discovered that she wouldn’t drink from a bottle and teat and instead she kind of inhales the milk from a bowl. She can down it in seconds, where it used to take an hour with the bottle. She has a penchant for sucking on your ear, your clothes, the table cloth while you eat dinner and really liked chewing the hairs on Gerard’s legs. She makes a noise like a duck quacking and is fed on about a five hour schedule including in the middle of the night.
Toast kindly gave up her room for us, so we had an ensuite and all the comforts of home.
