Swish Snow Bunnies in Switzerland

Try saying that very fast four times!

Once upon a time there were four little buniies who were all excitied to be going up to the snow in Switzerland. One little bunny thought it was old hat, one little bunny just wanted to play and get wet, one little bunny wanted it to happen really fast and did not want anything to do with the cold, wet stuff, he was a little grumpy, and the last little bunny was a bit scared of heights and not at all sure that this was a good idea. Anyway they rugged up for the cold and off they went.

The bus took them to the little hillside town of Engleberg, where they boarded a six seater gontola to take them up for the first stage of the journey. The scared little bunny made sure she sat in the middle away from the doors and held on tight. The others laughed and enjoyed themselves. The view was spectacular on this very fine and sunny day, so you could see for miles and miles and the tinkling of the cow bells on the cows grazing on beautiful lush grass below floated up into the gondola. It was a beautiful experience.

The next stage was a big, bus like lift that held about 80 people and took the bunnies up even higher, little villages were to be seen on the side of the mountain and they approached snow level, where fresh snow had fallen in the past week. The sun glared off the snow and the mountains exposed their beauty in the sunlight.

The last stage was amazing, the scared little bunny was getting more comfortable with the whole scenario, and who could not want to see the beautiful scenery around them. They boarded another gondola that held about 80 people for the last stage to 10,000 feet, but, in this gondola the floor rotated 360 degress so you could view the whole vista, in between people and if you were tall enough over heads, as you travelled upwards.

On arrival the bunnies found themselves in a multi level building that had everything they could want, restaurant, tourist shops, toilets, of course, and other shops and things. It also had an ice cave, where they could really get cold, and wet, but it was amazing, their breaths went smoky and it got harder to breathe very quickly, it was sooo cold! but the little bunnies were warm in their Swiss bought clothing.

The snow bunnies ventured outside where it was much warmer at -1 and the sun was shining. They took lots of photos and enjoyed walking around on the snow, which didn't get into your shoes or wet you at all. The grumpy bunny was even happy!. The two junior bunnies travelled off to the play ground on the chair lift and the two older bunnies went inside to indulge in Ghoulash soup, french fries and red wine. What a wonderful day the bunnies were having!

Some time later the junior bunnies returned with little wet cotton tails, but smiley happy faces and they warmed up with some food too! The time came to say goodbye to the lovely mountain and the sad little bunnies said farewell and travelled back down the mountain in the three different gondolas. Even the scared little bunny felt quite comfortable and sat near the door. The two junior bunnies travelled by themselves, naughty little bunnies running off on the older bunnies.

Back onto the bus and we returned to Lucerne to wander around the shops, which were mostly closed because it was Sunday, but the cake shop was open and we had some cake. This night the meal was included in the tour and the food was not good, thank goodness the little bunnies had bought chocolate and vodka. The tired little bunnies retired to bed happy after their big day of adventure.
