Hongkong

For a Lao citizen is required a visa to visit Hongkong, you can make a visa in the Chinese embassy near you , it costs 35 USD for two entries. I am holding a Lao passport and was traveling to Hongkong at the shenzhen 's border checkpoint. it s really piss me off when the officer see my passport and react in strange way.it seems that he has never seen a Lao passport. every time I go to Hongkong, it takes about few minutes to check on my passport and travel records, but others were just a few seconds.. My friend has to stay behind me and let me go first...

I used to cross the border at xiamen airport .the police has checked my passport in a special room .they thought that mine was a fake and they never saw it. because i just got a brand new Lao passport, so it was new for them . i spent about an half hour to wait them..

I went back Laos last year crossed border at the Bangkok international airport, the Thai policeman was piss me off again, He spoke with his colleges when he saw my passport.." He is not look LAO and blabla" he said.. what I should look like, man? I am Lao..

Updated: happened 13.5.2011

When I returned from Italy and I transited at the Munich Airport, I had the first experience with the german police at the Passport control. a Young girl police officer checked my passport and I don't know what was wrong with my picture on my passport. I assumed that the photo wasn't clear or the printed  was damaged or something ?so the police asked me to wait at side and she called her colleague.  10 Mins later the young man police came and re-checked the passport again with something, but he remain uncleared about that, so later on the young girl police brought me to the immigration office where she and other officers work.

they started to check my passport again with their supervisor and remain without any answers while I was sitting in front of the office. I had waited there more than 1 h and the polices were disappeared with my passport and after 15 mins the girl came ", it is ok and now you can go, I already stamped on it", said the young police .

That's all? No any explanation? however I was pissed off and fortunately I had a quite late flight to shanghai so it didn't delay my time much.

That was a first experience with police in Europe and it will probably happen again for my next visit and I already get used on it.

Good luck for me and my LPDR passport.
