Everyday is a New Day We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from life.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Japan | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

I am a passionate about taking good photographs that capture people’s imagination about the people and landscapes in my photographs. I especially enjoy the discussions and the sense of wonder that good photography can inspire. I think one of the reasons I love photography the most is because I feel that the camera can act as a catalyst to talk to and interact with people from all over the world, and from all walks of life. Being both Japanese and Lebanese I find it natural to blend in almost any culture.
An opportunity to be mentored by Jason Edwards in Oman would be a life-changing experience. I respect and admire his creative professionalism, as well as his ability to always be surprised. My dream as a photographer is to be able to share a window into diverse cultures and a side of humanity often not explored in the international news. I will be mentally and physically prepared for long days of intellectually stimulating hard work on little sleep. I am the happiest when exploring and growing as a person. This scholarship will give me the opportunity to help me refine my skills as a photographer and hopefully share with people moving and thought-provoking images.

About japanthroughlocaleyes

Due to a tragic mine accident that took place in Ikeshima 10 years ago most people were forced to leave the island due to dangerous levels of pollution. I photographed this at 2 am while listening of a concert of bugs, and animals. Locals warned me of poisonous snakes.
