My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Ikeshima is an island in the south of Japan that used to be known for its active and prosperous coal mine. Due to a tragic mine accident 10 years ago most people were forced to leave the island due to dangerous levels of pollution. This thermometer symbolizes a sense of chaos as it was hanging from a shed.
