Time just seems to fly by. I can hardly believe that this is the third week I'm working here. The first week was amazing, I had lots to do. I was allowed to scrub in on my second day to attend a recipient-surgery and the whole week just kept on going to be exciting and eventful. At the weekend we were at the Caribanna which is a carribian festival in the city and I really thought I was in Rio with the parade and the costumes and all - very carnival.
Last week was a little boring at work, I didn't have that much to do and most of the surgeries were happening at night. On thursday I met with a couchsurfer, Mark, who is really the nicest person on earth. Esther and I went partying with him and some of his friends (all doctors) on Friday night to a club called c-lounge. It was good music and the club reminded me of some of the Miami-clubs with its outdoor patio and pool. Saturday we met some of Duncans friends. Duncan is the son of the people we live with and they were all amazingly friendly and sooo much fun - you just gotta love Canadians. After getting out of the club we went to a chinese restaurant and I had the best chinese food ever - I just can't remember the name of the place!
So this week I started working being a little tired, but relaxed from this fun weekend. My supervisor is on call this week, so everythings a little different, but very good. I feel challenged again which is really good. Today I spoke with the emergency nurse, Kevin, who's going to make me do all the iv-lines in emerge tomorrow. I know it doesn't sound exciting but finally I really get to learn it - from a nice guy with dreads! :-) reminds me a bit of Holger!!
I don't know what I'll do this weekend. I got invited to go to a cottage at a lake "up north" which sounds really tempting. everybody seems to have a cottage here - so it might be a nice thing to do!
Well, I'm still at work - just snug up at the computer and have to get going again now....uh, I really should..
