    Prepare for landing - A puffin returns from an evening of collecting nesting materials as the setting sun coats it's feathers in a fine golden glow. by: jack_breadmore Views[312] Westing Seascape - The overall terrain of Unst is fairly bleak and treeless due to the low levels of nutrients in the soil. The coastal areas however provide numerous photo opportunities. by: jack_breadmore Views[356] Grey Angels - A Greylag Goose mother watches over her pair of goslings as they cross Great Skua infested terrain. A single gosling is haloed by the evening light as it looks over the landscape. by: jack_breadmore Views[364] The Inquisitive - I found the Golden Plovers to be delightful birds to both watch and photograph. They are wary of humans but their curious nature causes them to take as much interest in you as you have in them. The birds can be seen using raised mounds as view points. A few seconds later the plover disappears in to the long grass and re-appear elsewhere. by: jack_breadmore Views[389] Clocked - The Eusrasian otters on Unst have adapted to life using salt water seas as their feeding grounds. The otter's sight is extremely poor and the animals rely on their keen sense of smell.
