Here is a study of natural processes – the power of a desert environment to shape, bleach and mould all features of the landscape. This tree has been uncovered and burnt in the desert sun, acting as a reminder of unique patterns of existence in arid deserts.

Here lies the remains of an early outback dwelling – broken rock littering the desert floor. This building, destroyed by the movement of the dunes, is successively hidden and revealed as a function of the wind. The image speaks to the human drama of survival in a challenging environment.

The beauty of these dunes belies their treacherous nature. Hills of sand stretch to the horizon, unspoilt by the presence of any living thing. The camera captures the symmetry and richness of the landscape, supporting a mirage of vitality amongst desolation.
