My Scholarship entry - Herding Sheep
Iceland | Monday, November 24, 2014 | flickr photos
My name is Ingolfur Bjargmundsson and I‘m from Iceland. I‘m married and we have two wonderful children. After my first child was born, about ten years ago, I bought my first digital camera and started taking pictures of my family and friends. In these ten years my photography has slowly evolved.
I have always had passion about photography ever since I saw my first National Geography magazine at my grandparents house at the age of eight. When I'm taking pictures I feel very free and motivated. I get kind of an adrenaline rush when everything comes together, that is light, landscape and catching the moment.
If capturing the perfect picture means you have to get up before sunrise, walk the distance and wait for the right moment then I‘m up for the challenge.
I have mainly been taking pictures in my homeland and trying to capture the essence of it.
What I want to do more of is to travel to different countries and get the essence of that country, if it is the wild life, nature or the people in their every day life. In short, I want to find out what it takes to be a professional travel photographer.
It would be an honor to get this experience and a guidance from Jason.
