Night before departure

GHANA | Monday, 2 February 2009 | Views [312]

After 2 months of preparing for this trip, I think I'm finally all packed.  My back pack is ginormous weighing in at 40 pounds. The box is approximately 45 pounds and its filled with stuff animals, clothes and food.  My carry on and camera bag is packed as well.

I took my first dose of Doxy with a probiotic and so far, no GI upset.  I'm still feeling under the weather.  I must be more stressed than I realized.  My last workout was Friday night.  I am hoping I will feel a lot better by the time I get on that plane tomorrow.  Friends and I got together last night and NW Crossfit for my send off.  It was great to see everyone.

Rebecca texted from Ghana and said she and Livinus will be picking us up in Accra.  I'm very excited to go on this trip, yet I feel that it hasnt hit me yet.  Maybe it will once I feel the heat when I get off the plane.  I feel very blessed that I have the opportunity to go on this epic journey, especially during this difficult time on a lot of people.  While many people are out of jobs, I am going to be on vacation for nearly 2 months.  I dont know what to expect from this trip, but I know that it will be very good for me.
