My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

It started off with a photography project in college. It was the 1st time I bought a camera Exclusively for "photography" rather than to simply fill my family photo albums. The "yes-I-can-do-it-too" moment happened when my photography professor told me, "You have a good eye Medha". This was turning point No. 1. The 2nd turning point was buying a cell phone with a good camera since I couldn’t carry my Digicam everywhere. Once I had made this purchase, suddenly the world seemed to open up. The humble instrument of a camera encouraged me to travel and explore more places, people, events and most importantly listen to the various stories a picture captures within itself. Taking a cue from my college professor, I believe this opportunity will truly lend me many more 'eyes' to see and capture the happenings around me and to be mentored in a way that I can’t possibly hope to learn on my own; Ever. I think of my pictures as tiny pieces of stained glass, which will hopefully someday come together to create a beautiful and vivid stained-glass window; for people to catch a glimpse of the outside world through my eyes. This scholarship will be fundamental in putting together this window.
