For those who may think using ropeways as a tool of transportation is passé, a visit to the backwaters in Kerala is a must. For the local fisher folk and caretakers of paddy fields who reside in shanties along the backwaters, using ropeways and canoes to travel is a way of life

A poor fisherman pitched against a luxurious houseboat in Alleppey, Kerala, provided an interesting contrast between the local fisher folk versus the tourists who prefer holidaying on houseboats. I felt it showcased two co-existing communities together

Kerala is one of the leading producers of fish in India. The alignment of these Chinese fishing nets along one of the coasts in Kerala seemed like it was about to rain fishes from the sky above and these nets were all set to catch them
