Making lemonade in the shade.

Holy moley guacamole! It´s AUGUST?!?! I tell ya, time really is flying.

Before I know it not only have I graduated college but it has been a year since that date, a trip home for Easter has long since passed, well underway of year two in corporate America, dear friends are moving abroad and others just landing for a month long visit. Wow, let´s put this show on pause for a moment so I can catch my breath.

These past several weeks have been some of the best since I graduated college. I am finally finding interests and events that fit within the crazy schedule that is of a retail salesman which challenege me mentally. I have truly missed that. One of the events of which I speak is attending a mini conference given by a woman named Colleen Hammond. She has an interesting life story which brings her, in recent years, in the spot light of advocating for reasonable women´s fashions. She speaks to the beauty of women, their role and strengths with in societies and families and how all of that correlates to how a woman presents herself through the clothing she wears. I put her theories to the test and I was just about knocked off my little derrière! I have never in my life had so many doors opened for me nor so many offers from others to help. Whether or not you agree with her views, Dressing With Dignity is an interesting read at the very least. (A good history lesson, too!) I am highly interested to hear what you think if you have the opportunity to read it.

I have done all sorts of other fun things apart from listening to Colleen Hammond. I have played Mafia at ice cream socials, visited the Brookfield Zoo, saw the White Sox play the Red Sox, dug into a Chicago Deep Dish pizza, reserved a spot at a silent retreat, made plans for other mini adventures and even made some lemonade! I have also made plans for visitors from all hemispheres of the globe to visit me in Chicago this month, in addition to high tech driving range outings, visits back to Madison, harvesting honey from a bee farm and listening to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra play the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings as I watch the movie on a big screen while eating a yummy picnic dinner. Ahhh, summer is beautiful, isn´t it?

I realize, however, I really miss summers back East with family. That being said, I have already booked my vacation time to go back home next summer for about 10 days to do nothing but sit around for lazy summer nights with family next year. Can´t wait!!

Miss you all lots and send my love from the beautiful Midwest!

Until next time..
