Blue Moon Saloon

The first hot busy night I was in Louisiana, Neil took me to the Blue Moon Saloon. Turns out it's also a hostel that requires you to listen to a lot of live music. Ok, I haven't been in a ton of bars, being too solitary and cheap and procrastinating for much of the time, but that one is by far my favorite. Open air, healthily run-down, with posters and signs and stickers all over indicating its Louisiana-ness, particularly the giant street sign for Henderson Swamp that was riddled with bullet holes. All of which was beautiful and colorful and not overly processed. Plus, the live music was great. Anyway, I felt like I was actually in a different place then, and I liked it well enough to want to respect that part of the country.
