Day 8

AUSTRALIA | Friday, 29 April 2011 | Views [195]

Today we had a lazy start to the day. Doing bits of washing and then having breakfast. We then all headed to Uluru. The rock climb was closed so we did the base walk which is aboout 9.3 Kms. it started off quite interesting then after half way it got a bit boring as there wasn't much to see. Except a big rock! We went anti clockwise by the way. That took about 3 hours. We then had lunch and the climb was now open so once our sandwiches had digested we went for it. It took 1.5 hours to get to the top and 1 hour to come back down. It was quite strenuous but now we can say we did it. I don't think my feet will agree though. After that it was back to the camp site and relax. I think it'll be a couple of beers then bed tonight
