This fisherman was waiting for the right moment to head out to the sea to set up fish traps. The long red pole would be used as a floatation as he swims out.

Tourists visiting the Uluwatu Temple, Bali, are required to wear a cloth around their waist to cover their private parts as a symbolic respect towards the Balinese deities. A proper cultural understanding could have avoided this unnecessary pose for a photograph, which could have angered the locals.

As religion becomes part of their daily lives, the Balinese often spend time preparing for ceremonial prayers. The dragon head props made here were used for the royal cremation ceremony, which would later be burnt by the end of the ceremony.
