Wow, it feels like I am back in the West and I can finally pack my winter gear at the bottom of my backpack. Well I am still in Asia but this wealthy city is completely different to India. Variety is spice of life, indeed. I have been awaiting for hot climate for such a long time. Didn't really happen in India since I chose to travel in the northern part of the country. Mumbai was warm enough but this even better.
The flight was more than pleasant. I didn't feel like going through hassle with buses or trains but just took a cab to the hostel. The hostel seems really nice and looks like I made a good choice and after totally exceeding my budget in India, I gotta try save money wherever I can. I am gonna sleep in the dorm of six other persons for the next three nights.
This morning I caught myself having an embarrassing argument with a taxi driver over the value of slightly over one euro. I simply lost my sense of money. It began to feel that 60 rupees is like 60 euros after traveling turned out to be more difficult and expensive than I thought, I tried to be more careful with money but come on that was a bit over the limit from my side. it is not the end of the world that te driver charged you 80 rupees more for dropping off to the airport than picking up.It was a different company after all. Perhaps I got ripped off but it wasn't such a big deal.
Tomorrow I ll take a look around the city. The first impression is that I am happy that I had to make a stopover before moving on to Thailand. This city is worth seeing. Time to go chill out on the rooftop terrace before going to the bed.See what's gonna happen tomorrow.
