THAILAND | Thursday, 24 November 2005 | Views [568]

We started this morning with a wonderful visit to the Doi Suthep Temple, located on top of a mountain overlooking Chiang Mai. It was very beautiful with a lot of gold work and intricate carvings. We even got blessed by a temple Monk [momR don't worry, we're still catholic :) . After that we were taken to the various different factories of products Chiang Mai is famous for: silk, laquer, gemstones and wood. This evening we attended a dinner-theater that served traditional northern Thai food and showcased regional dances from the Lanna empire and from the different hilltribes. Tomorrow, it's elephants ... .
