2012 Scholarship entry - An Orphanage in a Village located in Northern India

India | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

Photography does not capture a thing as it actually is. It captures the thing as the photographer sees it.
Currently employed in the service sector, my routine involves a 12 hour day at the office where I play the role of a Finance manager. This is how I spend all days of the week barring Sunday where I rev up the engine of my bike and ride away to visit some place nearby. There is always something new to learn regardless of the fact whether you explore new places or re-visit the old ones.
There are many things in today’s world that people complain about. Examples include global warming, terrorism, poor health and animal extinction. However, not everyone is equally sensitive to these issues as they are simply not aware of their severity. This opportunity would allow me to learn the finer nuances of the art of photography and thus share with the world the images that I see of it.
If I were to win this scholarship, then I see myself as a photographer working on the issue of ‘Global Warming’ with an aim to ensure transparent communication on the subject to bring about sustainable change.
True change starts from within and I see this entry as the first step in the process of change.
