2012 Scholarship entry - An Orphanage in a Village located in Northern India

With the sun overhead and lush green fields in the background, these children are taught to co-exist with Nature at an early age. At times, their classes are conducted in the open where they might be joined by the local pet.

Hello, I must ask you a question - Did you shoot these photographs while the children were going about their daily routine?

All the best,

Dear Gaurav,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, i did click these photographs while the kids were busy with their daily routine. Since this was a school cum orphanage, i had to pay due regard to the fact that i should not interfere in the operations of this institution.

Thus, the teacher-in-charge had clearly instructed me to ensure that the kids should not feel awkward during the time that i spent at that place. And the rest as they say, is history!

I hope your question has been answered.

Thanks again,
Harsimran Singh
