Washington or wash out

Well I thought now would be the moment to start writing this blog. Just been to the Library of Congress which was a wonderful experience, especially and rather surprisingly the exhibition on Carl Jung and his red book. My intention was to take a leaf out of the old lonely planet and take the Capitol Hill Crawl, a three mile walk starting off in Eastern Market, and finishing at the Smithsonian with plenty of other sites and stop off's in between. Well i ended up getting off at the wrong metro station and so missed out the eastern market and arriving immediately at the Library of Congress. I didn't mind as Don and myself had a good walk round the market yesterday. The weather took a turn and as the sky blackened, people, bodies, blurred dashes of colour dived into doorways to escape the rain. I didn't mind and just carried on walking, well for about a minute and then took an about turn and headed stright back to where I'd just come from, the Union Station which is Collosal and a fine representative of the Beaux-Arts style of architecture. Sat here slurping a coffee and attempting to dry off isn't easy in these cold air conn'ed spaces. There's a lady sat opposite me with the voice of an angel, singing songs from her soul. Amazing, you'd never see her kind on America's got talent. It's still pouring it down outside and so it may mean I call the rest of my adventure off until another day. The metro is downstairs and sounds a lot more appetising. Well China town, see you some other time.
