My son and I took a walk through the village we were staying at and it amazed me that at every bus stop there was a bunch of bananas hanging. I found out that these bananas are from someone's tree and are for anyone and everyone waiting for a bus. A great example of generous community living

While on a bus we came across another bus broken down on the side of the road. It was full of locals on their way to town. Our bus driver stopped and asked if it was okay if he and his son got out to help fix the other bus. It amazed me how quick he was to jump to the aid of his fellow bus driver.

While in Samoa my son had the opportunity to go into a school and read to some of the students there. While we were at the school this little girl stole my heart. She just stood there staring at me with those warm brown eyes and beautiful smile. That smile came to represent what I came to know of the Samoan people on my trip. Such a happy, generous, and caring people.
