About hadizaher
Portrait of a man from the Papuan highlands.
I am Hadi Zaher, 27 years old, born during the war in Afghanistan, raised in the refugee slums in Pakistan and now a resident of Australia.
My first experience with photography was when I secretly took away my father's Konica camera and, unknowingly, wasted an entire reel trying to figure out how to use the camera. Ever since then, I have been passionate about photography as a means to record the human experience and to capture the beauty of the world out there. I maintain galleries on Flickr and on Getty Images. I have no training but I have been passionately interested in photographing the natural world. I have taken photos in Afghanistan, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, and in each experience, I have endeavored to capture the essence of the human life, art, and the environment. I dream of being able to visit the least visited parts of the world to photograph humans, environment, arts and the natural world, and to record their stories.
