A student from class 4 uses a piece of plastic as a make-shift umbrella during an afternoon downpour. With rain-drops still running down his face, he greeted me, proud to show off his innovative canopy.

After taking my camera out during a break from working planting a garden at the school, I was mobbed by a group of children asking me to take their photos. After snapping a few shots I was walking back to the gardens when I came across a shy, little girl from class 1, sitting alone under a tree. I asked her if I could take a picture and she immediately came alive, smiled and pulled a funny face for the camera.

This little girl hid behind the large groups of students who were acting up for my camera as I walked through the school yard to begin a morning of digging to help install a new fence. I took a few shots of the students and then saw her. She half-smiled, but there was something about the emotion in her eyes that captured me. I tried to take a shot, which resulted in this photo.
