The grounds of the Perth Cultural Centre, a wonderful meeting spot in Northbridge, but barely 5 minutes' walk to the heart of the CBD, where the tall buildings are. The Cultural Centre features the WA State Library on the right, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, in the red brick building, as well as the State Theatre of Western Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia, and the Western Australian Museum.
