The view from Mt. Lofty, looking west towards Adelaide and the Gulf of St. Vincent in the distance. This is about 727 metres or 2,385 feet above sea level, the highest point in the Mt. Lofty Ranges, which stretch for 300 km north-south, in a line east of Adelaide.

The main street in Stirling, a sleepy little town up in the Adelaide Hills, just down the road from Mt. Lofty, south-east of the city. Stirling is the wettest place in South Australia, and was thus recommended to English migrants back in the days of heavy immigration.

A cloudy day unfortunately but you can still make out the city, sitting in its island of parkland, 15 km away. Adelaide is the 5th largest city in Australia, with a population of about 1.3 million people. Most of it is flat-lying suburbs, with the only built-up part being the heart of the city itself.
