The front entrance to the massive State Library of Victoria, built in 1913, with the octagonal dome over the reading room one of the largest of its kind in the world at the time.

Parliament House, Victoria, home of the government of Victoria, but from 1901 to 1927 it was the Federal Parliament of Australia, before the Old Parliament House was opened in Canberra. The building was built though in 1855, so after meeting there for 46 years, the Victoria Parliament had to vacate to the nearby Royal Exhibition Building, still some pretty nice digs though.

Off to my first AFL game (Aussie Rules), Collingwood Magpies vs. North Melbourne Kangaroos. The Roos were the home team, and paraded out their new mascot, “Roo,” or something dumb like that, who proceeded to display some bad-ass hip hop dance moves with his white boys alongside.
