Looking the opposite way, lots of little shops and restaurants. The town is booming in the summer with the tourist trade.

The main street of Queenscliff, taken from the balcony of the hostel/hotel I was staying in. The Vue Grand Hotel is across the street, famous for its top floor lounge which unfortunately was only open on weekends.

Looking across The Rip to the Portsea cliffs; it was there that the Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared and was presumed drowned in 1967 while swimming. He was an expert swimmer, but the rip tide is treacherous. His body was never found, some say he suffered from depression and perhaps never intended to come out of the water...
